Sweet Home Sanitation has implemented a hazardous waste fee of $.59 per month on all residential bills. This fee goes towards the cost of holding an annual event where our residential customers can bring hazardous waste to our site for safe disposal.

Annual Hazardous Waste Event is the 2nd weekend in October.

What are examples of Household Hazardous Waste?  Adhesives, latex and oil-based paints, paint thinners and strippers, grease and rust solvents, wood and metal cleaners, nail polish and removers, cosmetics, household polishes and cleaners, oven cleaners, drain openers, lighter fluids, fungicides and wood preservatives, insecticides, herbicides, and rat poisons, used oil* and oil filters, fuel injection and carburetor cleaners, antifreeze*, batteries, fluorescent bulbs. These items should never be placed in the trash.
Please keep in mind that this is not a curbside service, the items above will need to be brought to the transfer station on the day of the event.

*Antifreeze and used motor oil are accepted at our transfer station for no charge anytime we are open
